Join us for the final conference of the Erasmus+ project "Introduction to AI, coding and chess"

Vattenhallen has been part of the Erasmus+ project "Introduction to AI, coding and chess" and will host the projects' final conference on the 15th of January, 2024. 

We invite teachers from compulsary school, school management staff, pupils and parents to join us for a inspiring afternoon about chess, AI and coding. 

Learn about the results and evaluations of classroom lessons produced and tested within the project, take part in fun chess activitities and hear more about the future of AI and upcoming Erasmusprojects. 

The conference will take place at Vattenhallen Science Center at Lund University, in Lund, but will also be broadcasted live.

Schedule

13:00 Monica Almqvist, director of Vattenhallen, opens the conference 

13:15-14:00 A short introduction to the project: Jesper Hall, chairman European Chess Union Education and Rolf Niemann, coding expert and educator

14:00-14.15 Pupils and teachers from Internationella Engelska Skolan Lund (the international English School in Lund) present how the projects' lessons have been tested on the fifth grade pupils at the school.

14:15-15:00 Workshop. Try lessons and activities together with pupils from IES, that combines chess, coding and AI. 

15:00-15:30 Coffee brake

15:30-15:50 Monitoring & Evaluation of the project "Introduction to AI, coding and chess", Guest speaker Ilaria  Piccozzi, University of Turin

15:50-16:10 Critical and ethical perspectives on AI in education. Guest speaker Christian Andersson, Malmö University

16:10-16:30 Chess and mathematics. Guest speaker Maria Helle, Essingeskola Stockholm

16:30-17:00 Upcoming projects about chess and coding: Let's brainstorm about the future!

17:00-18:00 Play Chess together
